The anatomy of letting go

Some songs begin with a melody. “Відпускай” began with a single word I had been unable to say out loud. It held sadness, relief and permission to move forward all at once.

At first I thought it was a story about another person. While making it, I understood that it was really about returning to yourself. Not erasing the past, but refusing to let it direct every decision that comes next.

I wanted the production to leave room to breathe. The verses stay close and vulnerable; the chorus opens wider, like the first deep breath after holding tension for too long.

If the song finds someone at the right moment and helps them take even one step forward, it has already done what it needed to do.
